A team of medical researchers from makerere University and Mulago Hospital has recommended to the government that DDT can be safely used in the control of malaria.
This follows the team’s findings from investigations in Kihihi sub-county in Kanungu district where DDT was used over 40 years ago.
Handing over the report of their findings to president Yoweri Museveni at State House Nakasero on Monday, team leader Dr. Gabriel Bimenya said, “DDT has no adverse effects on both human beings and the environment.”
